Edinburgh Jewish Dialogue are delighted to present their first cultural event of the year – an International Jewish Women’s Day Celebration.
• Talk and discussion on Judaism, feminism and ritual by SHIRA ELIASSIAN Shira’s talk and discussion will explore women’s role in Judaism. This will centre on a feminist reimagining of an Orthodox community that offers equal opportunities to men and women through the design of new rituals that are inclusive to women.
• Klezmer music led by GICA LOENING •
• Presentation on International Jewish Women’s Day by HAILEY ZISLIS Hailey’s presentation will ask the broader question of what International Jewish Women’s Day means, by tracing its relationship to International Women’s Day, and Jewish women’s involvement in the suffragette movement.
