What brings you to NatCAN?
Promotion of aSALT course, the 'Spiritual Activist Leadership Training', to nurture activists/change agents trying to bring more justice into the world. 'Spiritual' means something bigger than my ego that sustains me accesed through some practice e.g. meditation, walking in nature etc, 'activist' includes change agents of any shape or size, 'leadership' includes from the back, facilitative, 'training' means we are all learners and teachers together.

How can music create political change?

I've often wondered, often tried, often got it wrong and sometimes got it right. From helping articulate anti-Thatcher rage with a street band through protest songs, to running a big community musical about the cotton industry's exploitation of both black and white labour, I've tried to use music to bring political change.
