I just remembered the article in the Independent from a couple of weeks ago about the big increase in drug resistance bacteria.
The Department of Health is due to publish the UK Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy this week.
Let's hope it contains resolutions to move at least some antibiotic research into public development.

In Brussels, the old order is trembling at the prospect of Greece being thrown out of the euro and Italy – if Beppe Grillo had its way – deciding to quit the single currency. Giles Merritt from EU think-tank Friends of Europe said Brussels could handle old-style politicians like Silvia Berlusconi.
